That’s kind of a hard question to answer, anon! there’s no set amount, and the… upper limit changes depending on the way I’m doing the hair (because I have no regard for my computer’s memory)
like for something simple-ish, I’ll generally only need three layers and rarely more than five. e.g. these were three, four and five layers respectively
for something a bit more ~complex~, it’s generally anywhere between ten and twenty layers. e.g. this is ten layers, this was fourteen and this was thirteen, and that last one still needs a fair amount of tweaking.
plus, how many layers you use is really no indication of how complex or interesting your work is (I’m stroking my ego by assuming that’s why you asked,) I’ve known people who can do photorealistic hair in pencil and people who can do all sorts of stuff on one layer in photoshop that I could only dream of being able to accomplish. so. yeah.
This is really good, Frank. O_O YOU DON’T USUALLY COME CLOSE TO FINISHING ANYTHING EVER. I approve. Also I approve of the face-nipples. It will become a trend. Terry will make it catc on.
Aw, thank you! Finishing things is so hard 8( and yes I am sure it will. Next thing you know lady gaga will be flashing her smiley nips and people will be divided over whether it is ridiculous or daring and a bunch of hipsters will be like, “whatever it was cool when Frank drew them but now it’s like totally mainstream.”
A cracked version that you can extract and run off a flash stick or w/e instead of having to install it. IT COMES IN PRETTY HANDY until you meet a computer that lags after about two minutes of photoshop use, that is.
